I fell in love with photography after that. I would routinely capture better and better photos of the sunrises at Surf City. Occasionally I would offer my AirBnB guests a photo session at the beach, which sparked my interest in portraiture.
Then one day I was chatting with a friend whose daughter was going to a high school prom, but no one would be taking any photos of the occasion. That is when I volunteered to photograph the young couple and I was surprisingly impressed with the results. So were a few coworkers as well, and they asked me to take photos of their kids going to prom night and another asked me to photograph a wedding. read that again..... ASKED ME TO PHOTOGRAPH A WEDDING! I knew I would need a better camera, so I bought a Nikon D750 and a 70-200mm lens. The wedding photos went very well, but I soon moved to Charleston where I fell in love with taking photos of the Milky Way and the architecture of Downtown Chucktown. I took a while for me to begin portraiture, but once I did I could not stop wanting to work with people. So here I am, deeply into my 50s, and loving this expensive hobby they call photography. What is your favorite hobby, and if you could do photography, what would you aim your lens at the most?
